Dock Dogs is the sanctioning body for "Big Air" jumping.  Many have seen bits on ESPN or other networks of events such as the Great Outdoor Games which feature these events as well as "Super Retrievers".  This is essentially the doggy long jump into water.  The current world record holder with a jump of over 26' is    Little Morgan, whose renowned training regimen includes watching TV.
The picture to the left is Dwight, who is ranked #5 in the world and was on-hand at the San Diego Dock Dogs event on 11/8/03.
The border collie taking flight at the left is Gabriel, who was not ranked in 2003 and won the San Diego event.
Alas, this is me and my dock dog, Indy.  Indy will get a foot or so off of a practice dock, but wasn't having any of this jumping-into-a-swimming-pool stuff.  She prefers attacking the waves at the Huntington Beach Dog Beach.
We had a lot of fun at the event which was organized by Mark Stuart whose dog, Hogan, is ranked 11th nationally.  We had  a BBQ afterward, some awesome company, and the sky was beautiful.
